THOUGHT OF THE DAY!

“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”
Proverbs 24:10

“SIX EGYPTIANS DROWN!”

A SELECTED ARTICLE EDITED AND REWRITTEN BY STEVE NIEMEIER

The headline read, “Six Egyptians Drown Following Chicken in Well.”  It all started when an 18 year old tried to rescue a chicken that had fallen into a sixty foot deep well.  However, what this teen didn't know was that there was an underground current in that well.

In spite of his desperate efforts, the young man drowned.  Seeing and hearing the struggle of their brother, two brothers and a sister of this drowning teen attempted to help him, and they too drowned.

In all, six people died during what began as a chicken rescue (by the way, the chicken survived).  Absurd isn't it?  I'm sure that this teen would never have consciously given his life for a chicken, but he did.

You know, as strange as this story seems, how many of us “unconsciously” jump into the well of petty things such as a grudge, envy, gossip, lust, etc. and are drowning eternally in the “well” of sin?  Absurd, isn't it?
