ROBBING GOD
FROM MINUTE MESSAGES VOLUME II
A while back I read about some criminals who put on ski masks and armed themselves with guns and robbed a church of over $2,000. Holding the people at gunpoint, they took all the cash that the church members had.
Such is a sad commentary on our times. It made the news. Now, what did not make the news is there are other robberies taking place in church almost every week. You see, Christians are commanded to give as prospered and to fail to do so is to rob God (Malachi 3:10).
Now, which is worse? To put on a ski mask and rob Christians or to put on a pious look on Sunday and rob God while pretending to be a faithful Christian? The crime is the same, only the masks are different...ski or hypocrite, both are wrong! Don't rob! Give generously to the Lord's work.
THE CHRISTIAN AND HIS MONEY
BY STEVE NIEMEIER
The average American enjoys a living standard, which a century ago, would have been the envy of king's. Never have many families had so much more money than they actually need, and never have they more free time in which to spend it. We are an affluent society that has begun to look upon some things as being necessities which really are just luxuries.
What is the Christian attitude about all of this? Well, let me quickly say that poverty does not guarantee godliness; neither do riches indicate anything about a person's spiritual condition. The important thing is not how much we have, but rather how we use what we have.
Remember the Bible says the covetous man shall not be saved (I Corinthians 6:6-10). The Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil (I Timothy 6:10.

Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, Believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
(John 14:2-3)
